Goodbye to Myanmar

Meeting a beautiful concoction of people makes me realize the true purpose of human connection. To be and enjoy the presence of another human. To learn, to talk, to laugh, to pass a joint. It is not a contest. There is no race for the best photo, the loudest laugh, or the fittest mate. It is peace. It is unity. It is opening oneself to the flow of life.

On the Cusp of Leaving Europe; Vienna

I’m anxious yet excited to leave Europe in just 12 days. I have no doubt that SE Asia will be wonderful and life changing, but I feel slightly anxious… adaptable anxiety. I know I will see, experience, and learn so much about myself and the world.

Change is always a necessary and beautiful adjustment, just like leaving Europe.

After months of preparation and countless people telling me we were bound to get murdered, raped, and moonshined, we were off! Two 20 year-old girls with minimal backpacking experience, two oversized backpacks, a film camera, Virginia’s sketchbook and my journal, 64 miles, 6 days, and the entire state of Maryland.
