Thoughts from Krabi, Thailand

I do not know what divine happenstance or synchronicity brought me to this incredible day, but I am eternally grateful that it did. I feel, or pulse rather, exciting energy. A rebirth, a buzzing with purpose and insight… in love with life again like an unlearned child.

Meeting a beautiful concoction of people makes me realize the true purpose of human connection. To be and enjoy the presence of another human. To learn, to talk, to laugh, to pass a joint. It is not a contest. There is no race for the best photo, the loudest laugh, or the fittest mate. It is peace. It is unity. It is opening oneself to the flow of life.

Today I walked across the ocean floor, breathing like an obedient metronome, guarding the time signature of my journey. Today, I looked up; through water into the atmosphere on the blue, blue dancing waves. Today, I swam with schools of barracuda and saluted the elusive octopus. The ocean accepted me like my newfound friends in Krabi.

I visited the home of thousands. A certain stranger attached to a mighty tank. Pushing through the water like a spoon glides through soft ice cream.

Today I felt softened by the sea. Coral fearlessly standing guard, a fortified albanico. Today I danced, and I danced, and I felt pure joy… sudden bliss. Two feelings that have no opposite because they’re not feelings but rather states of being.

Thailand, you already have my heart strewn and splattered lovingly across your green face. My heart, residing in the smiles and sparkling eyes of Bangkok.
